Surgical Procedures
Abdominal Surgery
Abdominal Surgery refers to any operation on organs including the stomach, gallbladder, small or large intestine, liver, pancreas, spleen, and appendix. And may be performed as an open, laparoscopic, or robotic procedure.
Appendix Surgery
Appendectomy surgery is the surgical removal of the appendix. It’s a common emergency surgery performed to treat appendicitis, an inflammatory condition of the appendix. Robotic or laparoscopic surgery is typically used for appendectomy surgery to minimize scarring and reduce pain and recovery time.
Breast Surgeries
Breast Surgeries – If a suspicious lesion is found on the breast the first surgical procedure is typically a biopsy to determine if the lesion is cancerous or benign. If cancer is found, there are two basic types of surgery to remove cancer: lumpectomy (also called breast-conserving surgery) is partial removal of the breast, versus mastectomy which is the total removal of the breast.
Colorectal Surgery
Colorectal surgery is a field in medicine dealing with disorders of the rectum, anus, and colon. Surgical forms of treatment include colectomy (which is partial or complete removal of the colon) for such diseases such as colon cancer, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. Other procedures include removal of colon polyps, hemorrhoidectomy, treatment of anal fissures, surgical repair of anal fistulas, and perirectal abscess. Many of these procedures can be either performed laparoscopic or robotically which minimizes scarring, reduce pain and recovery time.
Gallbladder Removal Surgery
Cholecystectomy is the surgical procedure for gallbladder removal. The best treatment for painful gallstones is surgery to remove the gallbladder. We typically perform the surgery either laparoscopic or robotically which minimizes scarring, reduces pain and recovery time.
Hernia Surgery
Surgical Critical Care Associates, LLP, located in Beaumont, Texas, has Top Hernia Surgeons who provide Hernia Revision Surgery. A Hernia occurs when an organ, intestine or fatty tissue squeezes through a hole or a weak spot in the surrounding muscle or connective tissue. Sometimes a Hernia can be visible as an extra bulge particularly when straining or bearing down.
Types of Hernia:
- Inguinal: occurs in the inner groin
- Femoral: occurs in the upper thigh
- Incisional: occurs through an incision or scar in the abdomen
- Ventral: occurs in the general abdominal wall
- Umbilical: occurs in the belly button
Most Hernias can be repaired by minimally invasive surgery either laparoscopic or robotically to minimize pain and recovery time.
Parathyroid Surgery
Hyperarathyroidism is when the glands produce excessive amounts of the parathyroid hormone (PTH) causing increased calcium levels in the blood which is called hypercalcemia. This can cause kidney stones, osteoporosis (weak bones), abdominal pain, and various other symptoms. Parathyroidectomy is the surgical removal of one or more parathyroid glands. The parathyroid glands are four rice-sized glands located on the back of the thyroid gland in the neck. Surgery to remove the enlarged gland (or glands) is the only definitive treatment for this disorder.
Thyroid Cancer Surgery
Thyroid Removal Surgery: Surgical Critical Care Associates, LLP uses latest technology for Thyroid Cancer Surgery. A Thyroidectomy is when all or part of the thyroid gland is removed. A lobectomy is when one of the two lobes of the thyroid is removed. These surgeries are typically done for thyroid cancer but can also be done for an enlarged goiter.
