Jason Babcock received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1995 where his focused studies were emergency and critical care. He received his Masters of Science in Nursing (Emergency Nurse Practitioner) from the University of Texas Health and Science Center in Houston, Texas in 2002 with an emphasis on emergency, trauma, and critical care. Jason received his Board Certification as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in 2002 from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
Jason began his career in medicine working for Orange County Ambulance Service as an EMT and developed a strong passion for pre-hospital medicine. While pursuing his nursing education, he also received certification as a paramedic and worked for Beaumont EMS for several years. Jason has also received advanced tactical medic training and worked as a Tactical Medic for the Orange county SWAT team for 4 years. After graduation in 1995, Jason transitioned into a nursing position in the Emergency Department at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth and ICU at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth hospital where he previously worked as a tech in the Emergency Department. In 1998, Jason took a position as a Flight Nurse with Med-Link helicopter transport at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital. He continued as PRN in the Emergency Department as well.
In 2003, Jason joined Surgical Critical Care Associates, LLP in the role of Trauma Nurse Practitioner and General Surgery Nurse Practitioner.
